The Story

The journey began in the early dot-com days at Disney, building digital communities before abc.com even existed. We were making it up as we went—trying new things, learning from what worked and what didn't, figuring out how to translate television magic into digital experiences. That spirit of experimentation became my North Star.

I am motivated by no. I dare you to tell me it can't be done.

For 25+ years, I've operated at the intersection of data, technology, media & entertainment—being a change agent who transforms existing businesses and builds new ones from scratch. From those early digital communities to launching ABC.com's first profitable product, to convincing mobile carriers to share data they swore they'd never share, to building AWS Data Exchange's AI/ML data partnership ecosystem—I thrive where industries collide with emerging technologies and new business models are born.

I've been incredibly fortunate to work alongside brilliant colleagues and visionary partners—from Disney and Fox to Nielsen and Amazon. These weren't solo victories; they were collaborative innovations built with teams who believed in doing things differently. Every breakthrough partnership taught me that transformation happens when you bring together the right data, technology, content, and people willing to experiment together.

What drives me is building new businesses and transforming old ones at the intersection of data, technology, and entertainment. Give me a legacy media company that needs digital transformation (Billboard, Disney), a mobile industry that's never shared data (Nielsen), a quick-service restaurant navigating decline (Subway), or a cloud platform launching a data marketplace (AWS)—and I'll dive deep, understand all sides, and architect partnerships that create entirely new value streams.

"The worst thing to say in business is 'this is the way we always did it.'"

— Kathy Vosters, former boss

Career Signature Moves

🔥

The "No → Yes" Converter

Consistently turns "it's not done this way" into groundbreaking partnerships. Moved mobile industry from "we will never share data" to transparent data-sharing agreements with China Mobile, Vodafone, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

🚀

The Business Builder

Built multiple businesses from $0 to profitability: ABC.com's Millionaire game ($0→$9M), Billboard digital (85% growth), Nielsen Mobile ($1B+ tracked year 1), AWS Data Exchange (85% of paid entitlements). Whether building a new marketplace from zero at AWS or transforming a $95M Nielsen unit—thrives in ambiguity with speed and scrappiness.

🤝

The Trust Architect

Builds lasting relationships from C-suite (CTO, CIO, CSO, CDO) to executers to coordinators at Amazon, Apple, Disney, Meta, Microsoft, Samsung, China Mobile, Verizon, and more. Relationships outlast tenure at companies.

🔧

The Obstacle Remover

Dives deep into technical challenges. Performance reviews cite: "tenacious," "no task beneath him," "rolls up sleeves to troubleshoot," "leaves no stone unturned."

Amazon Leadership Principles

At AWS, these principles consistently emerged as strengths in performance reviews and peer feedback.

The Journey

I've been fortunate to work at the intersection of data, technology, media & entertainment with some of the world's most innovative companies. Each role was about transformation—either building entirely new businesses from scratch or fundamentally changing how existing ones created value.

"The biggest office in the place is always the room for improvement."

— John Kilcullen, mentor

Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Principal Tech Business Development Manager (L7)
Principal Tech Program Manager (L7)
2019–2023 | New York, NY

Launch team member building an entirely new business—AWS Data Exchange—from concept to market leader. Joined when the role itself was confidential through the entire interview process, offer, and orientation. Operating at the intersection of cloud technology, data licensing, and AI/ML with speed and scrappiness typical of a startup, I had the privilege of working with brilliant engineers and data scientists to create a marketplace that didn't exist before.

🚀 BUILDING NEW BUSINESS

Generated 85%+ of the platform's paid entitlements by earning trust from Disney, Meta, Warner Bros., NBC Universal, Verizon. Grew Disney from $0 to $100M+ in marketplace purchases. This wasn't just partnerships—it was architecting an entirely new business model at the intersection of data, cloud technology, and artificial intelligence while navigating ambiguity with agility.

B. Little & Co / Subway
VP of Business Development
2013–2019 | New York, NY

Right-hand to the founder, driving transformation strategy for Subway's family segment during their most challenging years. Operating at the intersection of media, entertainment IP, and quick-service restaurants—building partnerships with Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars that fundamentally changed how families engaged with the brand.

🎯 BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION

Reversed declining sales through strategic innovation. Created the first fast-food restaurant promotion featuring Mickey Mouse—a milestone requiring creativity and partnership architecture across entertainment and QSR industries. Result: 4.7% growth and $100M+ revenue protection while transforming Subway's approach to family engagement.

The Nielsen Company
VP & GM, Nielsen Mobile
2005–2010 | New York, NY

Led the mobile strategy for an existing $95M business unit, ensuring the business stayed current with the fundamental shift from physical sales to digital and mobile. Operating at the intersection of data analytics, mobile technology, and media measurement, I pioneered data-sharing agreements with carriers who'd never collaborated before—creating industry-wide mobile sales benchmarks that didn't exist.

🔥 BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION

With the launch of Nielsen Mobile, we began tracking over $1 billion in industry sales in our first year. Moved the mobile industry from "we will NEVER share this data" to collaborative benchmarking. Earned trust from China Mobile, Vodafone, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile—transforming how Nielsen captured the shift to digital sales.

Billboard Magazine
Head of Digital
2004–2005 | New York, NY

Created the consumer strategy and launch for Billboard's digital transformation, repositioning Billboard.com and Billboard Mobile as the destination for music and entertainment fans—a fundamental shift from its century-old B2B trade magazine roots. Operating at the intersection of music, data, and digital media, I built new businesses: Billboard.com, Billboard Mobile, Billboard Japan, and Billboard en Español with Microsoft.

📈 DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

85% digital revenue growth in year one, returning the brand to profitability. Catalyzed a $55M+ multi-national franchise model. This was about fundamentally repositioning how an iconic media brand created value—transforming from industry trade publication to consumer destination.

Fox Broadcasting
Lead Producer, AmericanIdol.com
2002–2003 | Los Angeles, CA

Oversaw the launch of AmericanIdol.com, building a comprehensive digital strategy and foundation for the show that would last for years to come. Operating at the intersection of television, digital media, and brand advertising, I created first-of-its-kind integrated sponsorships with AT&T, Coca-Cola, and Ford. Pioneered video syndication network with MSN, Yahoo, and AOL.

🎤 BUILDING THE FOUNDATION

Hit 30M+ monthly visitors at peak. This wasn't just about one season—it was about architecting the digital infrastructure and partnership strategy that would support the show for years. Early proof that the intersection of TV, tech, and advertising could create massive value and sustainable digital businesses.

Walt Disney Company
Producer
1997–2001 | Los Angeles & New York

Where the journey began. Started in the early dot-com days building digital communities before abc.com officially launched—operating at the intersection of television entertainment and emerging digital platforms. We didn't have playbooks; we wrote them. Created ABC.com's first profitable product—the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire online game—building an entirely new business from entertainment IP.

🏆 BUILDING NEW BUSINESS

Grew from $0 to $9M revenue while the show dominated primetime. Generated 70% of ABC.com's total traffic. This was the foundation—learning that being a change agent at the intersection of media, technology, and data meant building new business models, not just extending old ones. Those early digital lessons became the blueprint for everything that followed.

Beyond Work

When I'm not building impossible partnerships, here's what drives me:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Family First

Husband and father. Family adventures and creating memories together are what fuel everything else. Balance isn't about equal time—it's about being fully present wherever you are. We spent 2 nights sleeping in a rental car during the 2023 Lahaina, Maui fire—making some of our best family memories during a tragic natural disaster.

🏒

Ice Hockey

Two-time team captain at NYU. Volunteer coach with North Jersey Avalanche and Ice Hockey in Harlem, improving the social and academic wellbeing of kids from Harlem. Fun fact: There's an anonymous hockey player statue at the NCAA Hall of Champions—might be a life sized model of someone who played at NYU. 😉

✈️

Global Citizen

Million Miler on United. 1,075 lifetime nights with Marriott Bonvoy. Lifetime elite status across airlines & hotels. Built partnerships across 20+ countries on 5 continents. Filled every page of my US passport and currently in the process of obtaining an EU passport. Whether it's Tokyo, London, or Buenos Aires—some of my best networking happened at 35,000 feet or in airport lounges.

🌍

Travel

Love experiencing different cultures, trying local cuisine, and finding the story in every place. The best way for me to experience cities is to take long walks and ride their subways—NYC, Boston, Chicago, DC, San Francisco, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Athens, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo.

🎓

Education

New York University – BA in Economics. Member of ODE International Economics Honor Society. Team captain of NYU Ice Hockey and recipient of Outstanding Service Award from the Athletic Department. Learned early that teamwork beats individual talent every time.

🧠

Still Learning

Because in tech partnerships, standing still means falling behind.

AWS Certified: AWS Cloud Practitioner; AWS Tier 2 Speaker; AWS Sales Accreditation; AWS Cloud Economics Accreditation; AWS Technical Accreditation

Google Certified: Google AI Professional (AI Fundamentals; AI for Brainstorming & Planning; AI for Research & Insights; AI for Data Analysis; AI for Content Creation; AI for Writing & Communication; & AI for App Building)

🎯

Philosophy

"Try new things, learn constantly, take calculated risks, and always raise the bar." From building digital communities in the early dot-com days to negotiating AI/ML data partnerships today, the theme has been continuous learning. Every mistake teaches. Every "no" reveals something valuable.

📚

Interests

Tech trends, aviation geek, exploring new restaurants, being a dad and spending time with our American Staffordshire Terrier "Hattie" (play on "hat-trick" sticking with the hockey theme - my wife's idea, really!) and always looking for the next "how did they build that?" story.
